Costs
Attending the Studienkolleg München is free of charge. Students do not pay
tuition at the Studienkolleg. Books and study materials may add up to 50€ per
semester. Immatriculation fees at the university (Studentenwerksbeitrag) are
currently 42€ per semester (as of Nov. 2010). Students of the Studienkolleg
have to take private health insurance, which is about 30€ per month.
Living in Munich will cost about 600€ per month. There is a lack of student homes
in Munich at the moment. The tutor will help students that have passed (!) the
entry exam and have been admitted to the Studienkolleg find accommodation and
get health insurance cover.
Financing
You have to present the obligatory proof of financial security ("obligatorischer
Finanzierungsnachweis") at the foreigners office ("Ausländerbehörde"). Without a
specific work permit, earning an additional income is only legal during school
holidays on no more than 90 complete workdays or 180 part-time days per year.
Your visa is going to contain an annotation
about this. |
